Answers to common questions we get about our services.
While we specialize in designing and creating Regenerative spaces, all of our services can be seen on our services page.
Permaculture has come to mean “permanent culture”.
It is an integrated method of combining indigenous wisdom & practices with organization methods. Together, there is the creation of a whole systems design model. This model focuses on regeneration of the Earth & all life.
We enjoy being of service and actively listening to the people we work with. If you are envisioning a homestead/permaculture space in your yard, we’d be happy to apply it for you.!
The simple answer is yes! If you’re wondering about the total cost, it is a
higher energy exchange to do it in parts.
This question is asked very often and our perspective is quite different than the average persons’. We feel that plants are intelligent beings and if they are showing up somewhere it is an indicator of something. There is also a seed bank from many different plants in the soil. When the Earth is prepared, during installation, the seed bank is stirred up and an opportunity presents itself. Imagine plants as characters in a play. If you are worried about a certain plant becoming troublesome, you can remove the flower before it goes to seed or choose another plant character.
There are three options we propose for weeds:
Well, this is a common mistake we see that is highlighting the misconception that we are separate from nature. Landscaping fabric chokes the plants and is not healthy for the ecosystem or the soil. Your plants will grow happier when they can breathe. Landscaping fabric does not mean low-maintenance and it does not mean no weeds. Therefore, we do not use this method.
Gardens, especially when the plants are rooting, need to be tended to and cared for. We like to use the phrase, “Gardens need love.”
What does this mean? Watering your garden every couple of days (during the first year especially) will ensure that the plants survive & thrive. Watering your garden after a heavy rain is not necessary. After the first two years of establishment, there is a foundation. The community of plants is becoming a dynamic ecosystem and watering needs are lessened.
Tending to one’s garden is an art and an opportunity to connect. If you want your garden to look or act a certain way, more effort is required. If we allow the intelligence of nature to bring forth its beauty, less effort is required. It all depends on what you choose.

A consultation is necessary for most projects. If you’re interested and
want to see if we can help you, you can send us an email or call us!
Our in person consultations include an hour+ in person meet. Consultations also include a site assessment. A site assessment includes observing topography, solar orientation, water sources and more. This helps us get to know each other, your space & move forward with a plan of action.
Our online consults are via zoom. We’ll need pictures
and sizing of your space.

Once your garden is designed, we can then get started on estimates for installation. The work involved is dependent on each unique garden design.
